What does it take to make substations more resilient to cyber, physical and operational risks? In this role, you help answer those questions for customers across Europe and Africa. As a Market Application Specialist for Grid Resilience Solutions, you identify market needs, regulatory drivers and customer challenges, then turn them into scalable solution offerings. Working directly with Sales and customers, you translate application requirements into technically sound, competitive and mature concepts while personally defining the resilience approach and technical scope. When additional expertise is required, you bring together engineering teams, factories and partners, while maintaining technical ownership of the integrated solution through costing and proposal development.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Analyze markets, customer needs and regulatory requirements across Europe and Africa, including NIS2, the CER Directive, IEC 62443 and national grid codes, to identify opportunities for grid resilience solutions.
- Shape the Grid Resilience portfolio across cyber security, physical site security and operational resilience by developing solution building blocks, value propositions and business cases.
- Partner with customers, Sales and external partners to understand requirements, threat scenarios, site conditions and decision criteria, turning them into clear technical approaches.
- Define integrated resilience concepts for new and existing substations, combining cyber security, physical protection and operational resilience across the network.
- Coordinate input from engineering teams, product lines, factories and partners, translating specialist expertise into technical documentation, costing input and proposal content while retaining ownership of the overall solution.
- Present and defend technical concepts in customer discussions, workshops and fairs, clearly demonstrating how the proposed solution addresses specific security and resilience needs.
- A degree in electrical engineering, computer science, information security, or a comparable field, combined with relevant professional experience.
- Solid experience in substations and power transmission or distribution gives you a strong technical foundation for this role.
- Your expertise includes OT or industrial cyber security, ideally with knowledge of IEC 62443, IEC 62351, ISO 27001, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of physical security and resilience concepts for critical infrastructure is highly beneficial and complements your cyber security expertise.
- A business development mindset enables you to shape new offerings, develop business cases and explore new markets, while confidently explaining complex technical, security and resilience decisions to customers and management.
- Strong collaboration and ownership enable you to work effectively in international and multidisciplinary environments, resolve technical challenges independently, and bring an entrepreneurial and structured working style. Fluent English is required, while additional regional languages such as German or French are an advantage.
