Newly opened, Andaz Lisbon is an exciting luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital and represents a key milestone in Hyatt’s continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is the second Hyatt ‑ branded hotel in Lisbon.
Located in the heart of Lisbon’s vibrant Baixa district, along the city’s main pedestrian street, Rua Augusta, the hotel is spread across five distinct buildings, including the former headquarters of one of Portugal’s major banks, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI).
The central building houses 170 guestrooms, while the four surrounding satellite buildings offer a selection of exclusive private suites. As a unique Urban Resort in the city center, Andaz Lisbon invites guests to fully immerse themselves in the local culture and experience the true essence of Lisbon.
We are currently looking for a talented Houseman to join our team at Andaz Lisbon!
The Houseman is responsible for supporting the Housekeeping team by ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and replenishment of public and back-of-house areas, as well as assisting with daily operations. This role contributes to maintaining all hotel spaces at the highest standards of comfort, cleanliness, and functionality, in line with a luxury lifestyle hotel environment.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Houseman is expected to act with discretion, respect for guest privacy, and strong attention to detail, ensuring a consistent and carefully curated guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and organization of housekeeping carts, ensuring linens and supplies are fully stocked.
- Collect and distribute linens, towels, amenities, and other supplies to guest rooms and designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of corridors, floor pantries, service areas, and public spaces.
- Assist with room setup and cleaning during high occupancy periods or when required.
- Move furniture and set up extra beds, cribs, and other equipment as requested.
- Respond promptly to guest requests while maintaining a discreet, courteous, and professional demeanor.
- Report any maintenance issues, irregularities, or lost-and-found items to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all brand standards, quality requirements, hygiene procedures, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments, including Engineering, Front Office, and Concierge, to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Completion of basic education.
- Previous experience in luxury hospitality or a similar environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional attitude, discretion, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Physical capability to lift moderate weights and remain active throughout extended periods.
- Proactive approach and effective communication skills.
- Strong commitment to service excellence and teamwork.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic knowledge of English is considered an advantage.
