Join the innovative Siemens Digital Core team in our Lisbon or Porto offices as our Agentic NetOps & Agent Operations Engineer. Imagine stepping into a role where you will play a crucial part in transforming our network operations. You will help shift from AI-assisted troubleshooting to controlled, goal-driven operations. Your day may involve converting runbooks into agent workflows, defining approval and rollback controls for proposed changes, or testing agents in shadow mode. You will work at the intersection of networking, automation, observability, AI engineering, and governance, ensuring that our agents operate within explicit policies and operational guardrails.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Design and implement a staged Agentic NetOps roadmap, progressing from observe and recommend modes to approve-to-execute and guardrailed autonomous actions.
- Convert network runbooks and operational procedures into machine-readable workflows and reusable tools.
- Engineer human-in-the-loop and human-on-the-loop controls, including approval gates, policy boundaries, and auditability.
- Integrate agents with trusted sources of truth, telemetry, ITSM, and automation APIs to ensure decisions are grounded in current network and business context.
- Operate the AgentOps lifecycle, focusing on evaluation, simulation, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- A university degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of enterprise network operations, automation, or SRE, with the ability to assess the safety and impact of production network actions.
- Experience in developing AI agents, workflow orchestration, or tool-using LLM applications with APIs and structured outputs.
- Proficiency in Python and enterprise version-control practices, including testing, CI/CD, and observability.
- Knowledge of network automation interfaces, ITSM workflows, and telemetry.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with architects, operations, Cybersecurity, data/AI teams, and suppliers. Fluent English written and spoken mandatory.
You will join the Network Services team, responsible for designing, delivering, and evolving Siemens Energy’s global connectivity and network security capabilities. We are transitioning from a traditional service-oriented model to platform delivery, emphasizing clear ownership, reusable standards, automation, and AI-enabled operations. Our team collaborates across campus, wide-area, cloud, and data-center connectivity, ensuring network reliability while partnering closely with Cybersecurity, Digital Workplace, Cloud, Data Center, OT, and external suppliers.
