You chose medicine to be a doctor to investigate root causes, educate patients, and build long-term relationships. In high-volume healthcare systems, you are forced to be a triage manager, rushing through 20 to 30 patients a day.

How you will practice:

• Unrushed Diagnostics: With 30 to 90 minutes per consultation, you can take thorough medical and lifestyle histories, evaluate root causes, and educate patients without watching the clock.
• Continuous Relationships: You are the dedicated doctor for a defined, limited panel of members. You know their personal context, health goals, and family history over years, not minutes.
• Proactive & Preventive Planning: Design individualized health plans, track advanced biomarkers, and implement lifestyle interventions before chronic disease sets in.
• Integrated Team Practice: You are never practicing alone. A dedicated clinic coordinator manages scheduling, patient communication, and admin. Clinically, you have a team of on-site nurses and assistant doctors who handle routine procedures, triage, and follow-ups, ensuring patients experience seamless continuity of care and you are fully supported throughout every consultation. 

You are a fit if:

• You want to know a few hundred patients deeply over years, rather than thousands superficially.
• You want a predictable weekday schedule and stable income without double-booking or overnight emergency shifts.
• You believe medicine should address lifestyle, nutrition, and metabolic health before disease begins.
• You are licensed to practice medicine in Portugal (Ordem dos Médicos) and fluent in both Portuguese and English.
• You have a specialty in Medicina Geral e Familiar (MGF), Medicina Interna, or a strong interest in preventive, functional, or longevity medicine.
