Head of Brand & Communications
KNDRED Co
Remoto
Recruitment by KNDRED Co. for Minga London.
About Minga London
Minga was born in 2014, in a small flat in East London, with T-shirts tie-dyed in a bathtub. Today it's an international fashion brand with its own aesthetic and a loyal following. It draws on underground culture, music and internet subcultures, sitting between alternative fashion and streetwear. With over 1 million followers and ambitions to grow worldwide, it's looking for people to help write its next chapter.
The role
Minga is looking for someone to lead Brand & Communications, side by side with the Founder & Creative Director, and to guide a team that's already in place. It's a role for someone who loves thinking about the brand and getting hands-on: one day you're shaping the strategy, the next you're rewriting a piece of copy or solving a last-minute problem.
What you'll do
• Shape and deliver the brand communications strategy, aligned with Minga's creative vision and international ambitions.
• Build the stories around collections, campaigns, launches and collaborations.
• Give Minga a clear voice across every channel. You'll set the writing standard for the team and can write any piece of brand copy yourself.
• Create partnerships, cultural collaborations, events and activations with emerging talent, artists and communities that fit Minga, and take them from idea to execution.
• Lead the social, influencer marketing and brand content team: set priorities, write briefs, review work and make sure deadlines are met.
• Work with other teams and external partners, manage budgets and take ownership of day-to-day brand decisions.
What we're looking for
• You live and breathe fashion, music, youth culture and streetwear, with references of your own that go beyond this week's trends.
• You write exceptionally well in English, with a sharp sense of tone and language.
• You bring original ideas that are relevant to Minga and make a difference to the business.
• You've helped build something you can point to: a brand, a community, a campaign or a cultural project.
• You've led people before, or you feel the time has come to do it.
• Experience at independent fashion, streetwear or DTC brands with strong Gen Z communities is a big plus. At Minga, talent and results count for more than job titles or years of experience.
This role isn't for you if
• Your focus is performance marketing, growth or CRM.
• You're looking for a role purely in visual creative direction, PR or influencer seeding.
• You'd rather develop concepts and presentations and leave the execution to others.
Location, level and language
Guimarães, Portugal, on-site, with relocation support to be discussed. Open from Senior Brand Manager to Head; level and compensation depend on experience. Excellent written English is essential; Portuguese is a plus.
What Minga offers
• Real influence over the brand's direction, at a time of international growth.
• Discount on Minga products.
• A progressive benefits programme, including health insurance and a birthday day off.
• Team events and activities.
How the process works
The first stage is with me, Pedro Resende (KNDRED Co.): I review the applications and hold the first conversations. Finalists then move on to interviews with the Minga team and a case study.
How to apply
Apply through the link on this post. The form takes about 5 minutes and asks for your CV and a short answer about a brand, campaign or cultural project you helped build.
