HR Data Scientist
TP
Remoto
Your models won't just predict numbers. They'll shape how 14,000 people are hired, grow, and stay.
At TP Portugal, HR isn't running on gut feeling and spreadsheets anymore — it's being rebuilt on data and AI. We're looking for an HR Data Scientist who wants to sit at the exact intersection of people and technology, redesigning and building the models and tools that will power real, live decisions across hiring, retention and workforce planning for one of the most diverse workforces in Europe: 14,000 people, dozens of nationalities, one of the largest BPO operations in the country.
This isn't a “nice-to-have” analytics role bolted onto HR. It's a seat inside an active AI transformation — where the dashboards you build will get used, the models you train will be trusted, and the recommendations you make will reach business leaders directly, with direct senior leadership exposure.
What you'll actually do
- Partner with the HR business function, translating business challenges into predictive models, AI conversational assistants, and automated hiring and retention engines;
- Design, test and deploy the AI-powered tools HR still needs, from early ideation to production — intelligent dashboards, LLM-powered assistants, and the models behind them;
- Work with the data engineering team to build the trusted data foundation HR analytics runs on, with privacy, fairness and governance built in from day one, not bolted on at the end;
- Support HR in shaping its AI capability roadmap, from piloting new use cases to setting the standards for how AI gets used safely and effectively across the function;
- Engage with regional and global leadership to shape best practices for deploying and running AI solutions in HR.
What you bring
- A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related quantitative field, or equivalent hands-on experience;
- 3 - 5 years building data science or ML solutions, ideally with prior experience in HR, people analytics, or workforce data — though not required;
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience using ML libraries such as scikit-learn;
- Hands-on experience with Databricks or an equivalent cloud data science platform;
- Hands-on experience building and deploying with LLMs, including APIs and agent frameworks;
- A strong track record in end-to-end model development and handling large datasets, with real awareness of privacy and ethical AI principles;
- The ability to translate complex analytics into a story a non-technical business leader can act on;
- Professional fluency in English.
Bonus points if you have experience with
- Enterprise HCM systems;
- Databricks Genie, dashboards and apps;
- Modern BI tools, GDPR, explainable AI or bias mitigation.
If you want to build the tools that thousands of employees will soon rely on every day — not just maintain what's already there, but rethink and rebuild what comes next — this is that role.
