Head of Cyber & Eng

As a senior cyber security leader reporting to the CISO, this role translates cyber strategy into measurable outcomes across prevention, detection, response, recovery and resilience. The role leads specialist teams and works closely with Digital & Technology, business functions, executive leadership, strategic partners and managed service providers to strengthen company cyber resilience.

Description

Strategy & Leadership:

- Define and execute company global cyber security operations, engineering and resilience strategy aligned to business objectives, enterprise risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

- Lead and develop Cyber Engineering & Architecture, Detect & Respond, and Recover teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.

- Provide strategic leadership across security architecture, engineering, cyber operations, incident response, disaster recovery and cyber resilience programmes.

- Serve as a senior advisor to the CISO and executive leadership team on cyber risk, resilience and investment priorities.

Cyber Architecture & Engineering:

- Own and maintain enterprise security architecture, technical standards, design patterns and engineering roadmaps.

Embed secure-by-design principles into technology delivery through architecture reviews, threat modelling and design assurance activities.

- Lead technical security controls across identity, cloud, network, endpoint, data protection, vulnerability management, telemetry and OT security environments.

- Drive automation, DevSecOps, reusable security patterns and engineering excellence across technology platforms and programmes.

Detect & Respond:

- Lead enterprise cyber detection, monitoring and incident response capabilities across IT, cloud, OT and third-party environments.

Govern SOC operations and managed security service providers, ensuring effective service delivery, performance management and continuous improvement.

Profile

- Oversee SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, threat intelligence, detection engineering and security monitoring capabilities.

- Direct incident response activities, crisis coordination, escalation management and post-incident reviews for significant cyber events.

Cyber Recovery & Resilience:

- Define and lead enterprise cyber recovery and resilience strategies aligned to critical business services, RTO/RPO requirements and business impact tolerances.

- Ensure robust backup, restoration, disaster recovery and cyber recovery capabilities across global technology environments.

- Lead recovery activities during major cyber incidents, coordinating stakeholders across technology, business, suppliers and crisis management teams.

- Design and execute recovery exercises, cyber simulations and resilience testing programmes.
