Project Manager (Aerospace Software Engineering) - Hybrid Lisbon or Coimbra (3 days/week)

The project

We're looking for a Project Manager to join a Portuguese aerospace engineering company working on software and engineering solutions for critical aviation, space, and defense programmes.

You'll lead large engineering teams and oversee complex software projects from planning to delivery, ensuring projects stay on track through clear metrics, structured planning, and proactive management of risks, dependencies, scope, and people.

Location: Hybrid – Lisbon or Coimbra (3 days/week on-site)

Compensation: €70,000 gross/year, depending on experience and seniority level.

What you need

• Strong experience managing complex software projects and large engineering teams
• Experience with project planning, schedules, baselines, and delivery tracking
• Strong knowledge of project metrics and formal PM practices, including EVM, CPI, and SPI
• Experience managing risks, dependencies, scope changes, and deviations from plan
• Solid people management experience, including performance, development, coaching, or hiring
• English B2+ (mandatory)

Nice to have: Aerospace, aeronautical, space, or defense experience, PMP or equivalent certification, and experience in safety-critical or highly regulated environments.
