Junior Security Engineer

Noesis is looking for a Junior Security & Infrastructure Engineer to join our technical team (security engineering) to work in one of our offices (Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Guarda, Covilhã) with the following profile:
Security & Infrastructure Operations
- Support the operation, administration and troubleshooting of Windows and Linux systems and enterprise infrastructure
- Perform structured troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and support incident investigation and resolution
- Support security hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation and infrastructure security activities
- Execute technical changes following established procedures, change-management processes and documentation standards
- Basic understanding of networking and network security concepts, including DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS and common network security protocols
- Basic knowledge or exposure to security technologies such as NDR, Email Security, EDR/XDR, firewalls, WAFs and Load Balancers
- Support the implementation, configuration and technical validation of security solutions, working alongside senior engineers
- Support basic troubleshooting and analysis of connectivity, security and application-related issues across different infrastructure layers
- Support TLS/SSL certificate lifecycle activities, including deployment, renewal, validation and troubleshooting
- Develop practical knowledge of PKI, Certificate Authorities, certificate chains and trust relationships
- Understand fundamental cryptographic concepts, including public/private keys, CSR and digital certificates
- Troubleshoot TLS/certificate-related connectivity and application issues
- Participate in technical projects involving infrastructure and cybersecurity technologies, working alongside senior engineers and project teams
- Support technical meetings, requirements gathering and coordination with customers and internal stakeholders
- Track technical activities, issues, dependencies and deliverables, providing clear status updates and documentation
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly, progressively taking ownership of technical work packages and customer-facing activities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or a similar field (preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in the field
- Practical knowledge of Windows Server environments
- Practical knowledge of Linux systems
- Good understanding of fundamental networking concepts
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles
- Ability to perform structured technical troubleshooting and problem analysis
- Basic scripting or automation knowledge using PowerShell, Bash and/or Python is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Structured and methodical approach to troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Customer-oriented mindset
- Attention to detail, particularly when working with security-sensitive infrastructure
- Proactive attitude and willingness to investigate and learn independently
- Fluency in Portuguese
- English proficiency at B2 level or above.
