AI Engineer
This is your mission
Are you passionate about Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and building production-grade AI agents? Then this position is for you.
As a Senior AI Engineer, you will join a newly created team responsible for developing, maintaining and continuously improving a portfolio of AI agents supporting critical back-office activities within a major European financial services environment.
You will work at the intersection of AI engineering, software development and business processes, designing intelligent agent workflows and adapting general-purpose AI solutions to specific operational requirements.
Build Side
- Design, develop and continuously improve AI agents using Python, LangGraph, LangChain and agent frameworks.
- Design agent workflows including task decomposition, tool/function calling, state and memory management, guardrails and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Develop integrations with REST/gRPC APIs and external tools to enable agents to interact with business applications and data.
- Engineer, test and version prompts and agent configurations, ensuring controlled and traceable releases.
- Build evaluation frameworks using golden datasets, regression test suites and quality metrics such as accuracy, groundedness and escalation rate.
- Adapt and localize general-purpose AI agents to specific business requirements, terminology, workflows and operational controls.
- Implement observability and monitoring to track agent behaviour, latency, token usage and failure modes.
- Contribute to model lifecycle management, including model/provider changes and optimisation of cost, performance and context-window usage.
- Monitor and maintain AI agents deployed in production environments.
- Investigate and resolve production issues related to agent behaviour, integrations, performance and reliability.
- Support controlled deployment and configuration management using Docker, Kubernetes and ConfigMaps.
- Analyse production feedback and continuously improve agent performance and user experience.
- Participate in shadow testing, regression testing and controlled rollouts before new versions are released.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and operational teams to translate real-world business processes into reliable AI behaviours.
You have 6 years of experience in Python software engineering, including at least 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience developing LLM/Generative AI applications.
You have practical experience building AI-powered applications and are comfortable working with agentic architectures, APIs and cloud-native environments. You enjoy solving complex problems, experimenting with emerging AI technologies and turning business requirements into robust technical solutions.
You are looking for an environment where your ideas matter, where you can work on innovative AI use cases, and where technology goes hand in hand with collaboration and business impact.
This Is Your Expertise
- Strong experience in Python engineering and LLM/GenAI applications.
- Practical experience with at least one agent framework (CrewAI, LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, or similar); understanding of ReAct-style loops, tool calling, and structured outputs.
- Solid grasp of prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and LLM evaluation techniques.
- Comfortable consuming REST/gRPC APIs (Go backend); JSON schema design; async Python.
- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes basics (enough to deploy, read logs, and edit ConfigMaps safely).
- Testing culture: pytest, mocking LLM calls, deterministic test design for non-deterministic systems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative and open-minded, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
- Analytical, autonomous and solution-oriented, with strong attention to detail.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a rapidly evolving AI environment.
- Organised and able to manage priorities in a demanding production environment.
- Client-focused, proactive and results-driven, with a strong sense of ownership.
