About the role:
As part of our expansion, we're seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to lead payroll management for our 200+ employees across 6 European countries. You will orchestrate our payroll processes, drive the implementation of our new Deel system, and ensure impeccable compliance with local regulations.
Main Responsibilities:
Payroll Operations & Data Management
- Orchestrate the monthly payroll cycle for :200 employees across 6 countries (France, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Portugal)
- Validate payroll inputs and outputs with our Deel partner
- Guarantee 100% compliance with local regulations (taxes, social contributions, legal deadlines)
- Drive the implementation and optimization of Deel Global Payroll
- Maintain data integrity for all employees across all systems (HR, Finance)
- Be the go-to contact for Finance, Accounting, HR, and Treasury teams
- Provide payroll data for monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Support internal and external audits; maintain impeccable documentation
- Coordinate with Treasury to ensure timely payroll funding and statutory payments
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle: contracts, amendments, transfers, promotions, departures
- Administer employee benefits (health insurance, allowances, meal vouchers, etc.)
- Support employees with payroll, employment documentation, and benefits questions
- Keep employee records and absence/leave tracking up-to-date
- Anticipate and implement regulatory changes across each jurisdiction
- Standardize and improve payroll and employment administration processes; document procedures
- Maintain a culture of control and compliance
- Minimum 5 years of experience in multi-country payroll management (Europe)
- Demonstrated expertise in France and Italy payroll regulations
- Solid knowledge of European labor law and employment administrative obligations
- Experience with global payroll systems (Deel or similar is an advantage)
- French, English, and Italian fluent (written and spoken) – mandatory
- Advanced Excel (reconciliation, data analysis, reporting)
- Comfortable with large data volumes and multi-system integrations
- GDPR and data confidentiality: solid knowledge
