Job Description
Working closely with development, manufacturing, quality and supplier teams, you will contribute to product industrialization, process excellence and continuous quality improvement across global projects.
Your contribution to something big:
- Drive Simultaneous Engineering activities together with Mechanical Design, Hardware, Layout, Manufacturing Technologies, Process Engineering, Plants and Suppliers.
- Support Design Freeze reviews by evaluating product maturity, manufacturability and process readiness.
- Identify risks and implement preventive measures to improve product quality and manufacturing performance.
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of new assembly technologies and manufacturing guidelines.
- Perform mechanical assessments of product samples throughout the development lifecycle and support global project teams.
- Define, coordinate and monitor containment and corrective actions related to product concepts and manufacturing processes.
- Moderate technical assessment meetings, document results and track implementation actions.
- Ensure compliance with product and process guidelines while identifying and reporting deviations.
- Monitor product maturity and maintain industrialization documentation, including IMA files.
- Support sample maturity phases from prototype assessments through production readiness.
- Create and align Device Assembly Specifications (DAS) and Reuse Matrix documentation together with cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) activities, Process Chain Development (PCD) workshops, and risk assessment reviews.
- Collaborate in PFMEA and DFMEA activities to proactively identify and mitigate product and process risks.
- Support packaging assessments, engineering change requests (ECRs) and concession analyses.
- Contribute to the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across global development projects.
Qualifications
What distinguishes you:
Education
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- Experience in mechanical product development, industrialization, manufacturing engineering or process engineering.
- Experience working in cross-functional and international project environments.
- Experience supporting product launches and industrialization activities is an advantage.
Know-how
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, materials engineering and product development.
- Strong knowledge of metals and polymers.
- Proficiency in 2D mechanical design and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Experience with 3D CAD tools, preferably NX Unigraphics.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Experience with quality methodologies and problem-solving tools.
- Good knowledge of SAP.
- Familiarity with DFMEA, PFMEA, DFMA and process risk assessment methodologies.
Languages
- Fluent in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken.
