Cable Puller – Substation & Power Infrastructure Projects

We are looking for experienced Cable Pullers to join our Grid & Substations team. This role will be responsible for supporting cable installation activities within energy infrastructure projects across Europe.


About The Role

The Cable Puller is responsible for the installation, routing, securing, and pulling of power, control, and communication cables in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards. Working as part of an international team, the Cable Puller contributes to the successful delivery of critical Substation and Power Infrastructure projects that support the expansion of Europe's energy networks and renewable energy sector.

This position is initially based in Germany and operates on a rotational schedule of 3 weeks on site followed by 2 weeks off (3/2 rotation), allowing for a balanced work-life arrangement while working on long-term international projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the growing energy infrastructure sector, offering stability, professional development, and exposure to major projects across Europe.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cable pulling, routing, dressing, and securing activities in accordance with project specifications and installation standards.
  • Install power, control, fiber optic, and communication cables within substations and associated infrastructure.
  • Assist with cable laying activities in trenches, ducts, cable trays, and conduits.
  • Support cable termination preparation activities and assist technicians during connection works.
  • Ensure cables are correctly identified, labelled, and documented according to project requirements.
  • Carry out visual inspections to verify installation quality and compliance with technical specifications.
  • Use cable pulling equipment, hand tools, and installation accessories safely and effectively.


Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Cable Puller, Electrical Installer, Electrical Labourer, or similar role within industrial, construction, energy, or infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with cable routing, pulling, securing, and installation activities.
  • Familiarity with cable trays, conduits, trenches, and cable management systems.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and cable installation equipment.
  • Understanding of site health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
  • Previous experience within substations, power infrastructure, renewable energy, wind energy, or high-voltage projects is considered an advantage but is not mandatory.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual work in construction and industrial environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work effectively within an international and multicultural team.
  • English language skills at a minimum B1 level are mandatory and will be assessed during the recruitment process.
  • Availability to support ongoing and future projects across Europe.
