Project Buyer (12–14 Month Fixed‑Term Contract)

Based at our Albergaria site, you will be part of an international project procurement team supporting product development across Europe, the US, China, and Thailand. This fixed‑term role offers the chance to contribute to meaningful projects within a leading brand in the sanitary industry, working in a flexible hybrid model.
About The Role
We are looking for a Project Buyer to support our new product development activities during a sickness cover period (approximately 1 year to 14 months). In this role, you will collaborate closely with global teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure cost, quality, and timeline targets are achieved.
You will join a dynamic team of Project Buyers, supported by procurement assistants in Portugal and Germany, and play a key part in supplier management, sourcing strategy, cost optimisation, and coordination between project and series purchasing.
Key Responsibilities
- Project purchasing for new product development
- Sourcing strategy development for project components
- International purchasing of assemblies and components
- Supplier selection and contract negotiation
- Requesting, analysing, and negotiating supplier quotations
- Ensuring delivery timelines, cost efficiency, and quality standards
- Monitoring procurement markets, pricing trends, and technologies
- Supporting cost‑optimisation and complexity‑reduction initiatives
- Coordinating between project and series purchasing
- Tracking tool and initial sample schedules
- Ensuring material availability for product launches
- Maintaining project documentation and cost tracking
- Participating in global project meetings
- Managing supplier relationships and performance
- 3–5 years of purchasing experience, ideally in project buying
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively
- Experience working in international environments
- Strong MS Office skills; SAP knowledge is an advantage
- Fluent English; Portuguese is a plus
- Technical understanding of materials (electronics, plastics, tooling) is desirable
