To do this, we need the best AI/ML talent in Portugal. Not through job ads, through relationships.

The role

We’re hiring an AI Ecosystem Builder: someone who sits at the intersection of recruiting, community building, and market intelligence.

You’ll be the person who connects us to exceptional AI/ML professionals. Not by posting ads, but by showing up at events, having real conversations, building a community, and becoming a known presence in the Portuguese AI ecosystem.

And when the right person meets the right project, you bring them on board.

What you’ll do

Community

• Attend AI/ML meetups, conferences, and events across Portugal

• Organise our own events at our Carnaxide office — grow them over time

• Build an online community (Discord/Slack) for AI/ML professionals in Portugal

Talent

• Scout and recruit high-calibre AI/ML professionals through LinkedIn, GitHub, Discord, conferences

• Build long-term relationships, not just fill seats

• Own the recruiting process end-to-end when the right match appears

Intelligence

• Every conversation is a source of market insight — what are companies building, who’s hiring, where are the gaps

• Feed actionable intelligence to the commercial team

• Be a trusted node in the network — someone people talk to because the conversations are valuable both ways

What you bring

Must-have:

• People person, extrovert, highly empathic — this is an 80%-outside role

• Genuine curiosity about AI/ML — you follow the field, you have opinions

• Comfortable using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) in your daily workflow

• Able to have interesting conversations with technical people without pretending to know more than you do

• Highly organised and focused on results

• Strong LinkedIn presence or willingness to build one

• Fluent in English. Portuguese native or fluent

• Based in Lisbon area, willing to work from Carnaxide

Nice-to-have:

• Background in tech recruiting, developer relations, or community management

• Existing network in the Portuguese tech/AI community

• Experience organising events or meetups

What we don’t need

• Someone who measures success only in CVs sent

• Someone who needs a script to have a conversation

• Someone who sees this as a desk job

What success looks like

90 days: Real relationships forming. Known face at community events. First market insights shared with the team.

6 months: First company meetup organised. Talent pool growing. First hires brought on board. Online community launched.

12 months: We’re a recognised name in the Portuguese AI community. Talent pipeline feeds project staffing. Market intelligence is a competitive advantage.

Compensation & growth

• €1,500–3,000 gross/month depending on experience

• Carnaxide, Lisbon (on-site)

• Full access to AI tools, event budgets, community-building resources

• This role grows into AI Ecosystem Lead / Head of AI Community as we scale

About us

We’re a team of ~25 based in Lisbon. We built proprietary AI products for document intelligence (validation, fraud detection, extraction) used by Portuguese banks. Now we’re deploying that technology as intelligent agents inside enterprise processes.

We have the tech. We have the clients. We need the people who build the ecosystem around it.
