HR Specialist (1-year FTC)
Efficio
Efficio is the world’s largest specialist procurement and supply chain consultancy, with offices across Europe, North America, and the Middle East. We’re a diverse team of over 1,000 individuals, representing more than 60 different nationalities and speaking 40+ languages – and we’re continuing to grow rapidly!
We are a fast-growing, international company with offices across Portugal and the UK. Our team is built on expertise, rigour, and a genuine commitment to doing things right — and we’re looking for people who feel the same way.
We are recruiting for our Lisbon Office, where you’ll join a growing team of talented HR professionals supporting employees across two markets. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role at the heart of our HR Operations function.
We are offering a 1-year contract with the possibility to become permanent.
As a HR Specialist, you will own BAU processes end-to-end across global payroll coordination, benefits administration, onboarding, employee lifecycle, and compliance activities across Portugal and the UK. Working closely with the HR Operations Lead, your key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating global payroll across Portugal and the UK : validating inputs, running pre/post checks, and ensuring every cycle runs on time without errors.
- Owning data quality in our HRIS : the single source of truth for all employee information across both markets.
- Managing onboarding and offboarding end-to-end for Portugal : from day-one setup and HR inductions to exit documentation.
- Benefits administration across both markets and managing renewals and provider relationships.
- Handling the full employee lifecycle for Portuguese employees : parental leave, resignations, probation, documentation requests and ad hoc queries.
- Supporting UK visa and immigration administration : Skilled Worker visas, right-to-work checks, and coordination with external immigration advisors.
- Maintaining audit-ready files at all times and proactively flagging compliance gaps :not just when an audit is announced.
Strong opportunities for career growth are an important part of what we offer — we love seeing ambition and a proactive approach to developing your career.
We’d love to hear from you. We’re particularly interested in:
- Up to 3 years of experience in an HR administration or HR operations role
- Hands-on HRIS experience - ePeople is a strong plus
- Exposure to payroll coordination and employee data management
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing high volumes of ad hoc requests without dropping BAU
- Fluent in English; Portuguese is a genuine advantage
- Proficient in Excel and comfortable working across multiple systems simultaneously
