Admission Requirements:
Research grants (BI):
Candidates must be enrolled in a course not conferring a degree or in a master program in electrical engineering or related fields. Knowledge of communication systems, both digital and analog. Laboratory experience in using communications test equipment.
Work Objectives:
Design novel optical transceivers for multicore fiber systems that represent a novel solution that can be employed in next generation intra/inter data centers or access networks, and cope with the huge capacity demand experienced by these networks. The research fellow will develop research work, both theoretical and experimental
Applicable legislation:
A fellowship will be celebrated according to the regulations defined by FCT, “Regulation of Instituto de Telecomunicações’ fellowships” and “Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação”, according to Law no. 123/2019, dated August 28 (Status of Scientific Research Fellow), in its actual redaction, and also by Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P. Fellowship Regulation of Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia. Place of work:
The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. Paulo Miguel Nepomuceno Pereira Monteiro
Duration:
3 months, with the possibility of renewal. This type of scholarship has a maximum duration of 2 years. Start date: July 2026 or soon thereafter
Monthly salary:
1090.98€ according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). The payment will be made by bank transfer
Selection criteria:
- C1 (60%)
Curriculum vitae/Academic evaluation - C2 (15%)
Suitability of the candidates’ profile to the project based on admission requirements and relevant work experience in the tasks described in the work plan - C3 (25%)
Interview of the candidate
Each criteria, and the final classification F will be evaluated in a scale (0-20). The candidates will be ordered according to:
F = C1 x 60% + C2 x 15% + C3 x 25%
In case of a tie, the tied candidates will be ordered according to C1, then C2...
The Jury has the right to not admit any of the candidates that applied for this position whenever they consider that no candidate meets the minimum requirements for the position
