How will you do it?

You will be part of a multidisciplinary technical team specialized in the design of Data Centers and critical infrastructures, working on large-scale projects with a high level of technical demand, which will allow you to develop an interesting and enriching vision.

You will have the support of professionals with extensive experience in the sector, as well as an internal development and mentoring program that will allow you to consolidate your technical skills, assume greater autonomy and lead mechanical work packages in the short and medium term.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Manage all mechanical aspects (HVAC, Fire and Plumbing and sewage) of projects, mainly in the construction sector.
  • Performing calculations and review of the mechanical design (calculations of thermal loads, piping and ducts), engineering criteria, data sheets, specifications and standards, and scope of work.
  • Equipment selection and review criteria: Chiller, Pumps, terminal equipment (FWU, CRAH), Fans and VRV system.
  • Leadership and technical guidance to mechanical engineers and engineers from other disciplines involved in the projects.
  • Verification of redundancy and service continuity criteria of the project.

You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, or reviewing technical project documentation, including:

  • schemes.
  • Design criteria.
  • Technical specifications.
  • Equipment Data Sheets.
  • Specs.
  • Piping and duct plans.
  • Technical reports and tender documentation.
  • Technical review of documentation of manufacturers, contractors and suppliers.
  • Technical and multidisciplinary coordination

- Preparation and review of requests for mechanical equipment and material packages.

  • Application of safety in design in engineering projects.
  • Technical assistance on site:
  • Supervise and ensure that the execution of the works is carried out in accordance with the project, compliance with regulations and standards of the clients.
  • Approvals of equipment and elements raised.
  • Resolve contingencies during the work, provide technical instructions and prepare change orders.
  • Review of As-built documentation.
  • Control the correct execution of the material of the work, checking layouts, materials and their correct arrangement on site. Ensuring that mechanical installations are carried out properly, safely and in accordance with the client's and the project's standards.
  • Collaborate in the Commissioning part.

You will collaborate with architectural, electrical, telecommunications, control/BMS, civil, structural and commissioning teams to ensure the correct integration of the mechanical ( HVAC, Fire and PH) design within the Data Center complex.

You will also participate in technical meetings with customers, suppliers, contractors and other project stakeholders.

What do you need to fit in?

  • Preferably Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Approximate experience of 8 years or more as a mechanical design engineer for singular buildings (hospitals, hotels, pharmaceutical projects, airports, etc.).
  • Experience as technical assistance on site for complex mechanical installations.
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing and sewage, fire suppression and smoke detection systems.
  • Experience in designing critical systems with criteria of redundancy, availability, maintainability and continuity of service.
  • Ability to develop and review calculations, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation of HVAC, Fire and Plumbing systems.
  • Skills for management and direct dealings with clients and contractors.
  • Ability to work with a certain autonomy, as well as in a team.
  • Desire to learn and develop in new areas of mechanical engineering.
  • Quality and performance orientation.
  • Knowledge of local and international standards.
  • High level of English, both spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of safety and health on site.
  • Good technical communication skills.
  • Orientation to quality, detail and compliance with deadlines.

The following will be positively valued:

  • Previous experience in Data Center projects or critical facilities for international clients
  • Knowledge of standards such as Uptime Institute, TIA-942, IEC, NFPA or NEC.
  • Experience with Revit/BIM, Navisworks, ACC, or similar tools.
  • Participation in construction phases, submittal review, FAT/SAT, commissioning or QA/QC.
  • Experience coordinating small technical teams or mechanical work packages
