Purpose
To deliver high-quality, user-centric product design across Causeway’s suite of products, contributing to the CausewayOne Design Language and Design System while collaborating closely with product, engineering, and business teams to bring innovative solutions to life.
The Product Designer is a core member of the Product Design team, reporting directly to the Lead Designer. This role is responsible for end-to-end design of product features — from early-stage research and ideation through to detailed UI and handoff — ensuring all output meets the standards set by Concrete, the CausewayOne Design System.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design
- Own end-to-end design of product features across web SaaS and mobile applications, from problem definition and research through to final UI design and developer handoff.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma, leveraging Concrete components, tokens, and patterns to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and synthesis to inform design decisions and advocate for user needs within product teams.
- Contribute to design crits and async Figma reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback to maintain a high bar for design quality.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure design intent is accurately implemented, supporting QA at key delivery stages.
- Create rapid prototypes to support sales, strategic storytelling, and stakeholder communication.
- Apply and help maintain the Concrete Design System, including components, tokens, and usage guidelines, flagging gaps or improvements to the Lead Designer.
- Maintain well-organised, properly named Figma files that align with team conventions and the development repository structure.
- Contribute to scalable templates and shared libraries, supporting consistency and efficiency across the design team.
- Work closely with the Lead Designer, Product Director, Product Owners, and engineering teams to align design work with product strategy and delivery priorities.
- Actively participate in 1-2-1s and performance reviews, taking ownership of personal development goals and growth within the P3 level framework.
- Support cross-product alignment by working collaboratively across teams to ensure a consistent and cohesive user experience.
- Explore and adopt AI tools and techniques where they can improve design quality, innovation, and productivity.
Skills & Experience
- A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work across web and/or mobile products, with clear evidence of user-centred design practice.
- Proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, and prototyping; experience working within or contributing to a design system is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and accessibility best practices.
- Experience working in an agile product environment, collaborating with product managers and developers throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale to stakeholders at varying levels.
- A degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; typically 3–5 years of experience in product or UX design.
- Experience in or appetite to learn about the Construction and/or Infrastructure sectors, and an interest in understanding how Causeway’s products serve that market.
