The Cost Manager will be responsible for service delivery on the data centre construction project. The role will focus on the cost management of the CSA package from the construction stage through to the settlement of the final account.

Location: Sines, Portugal. This role requires being on-site during the work week. No rotation or fly-in/fly-out arrangement applies

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering project objectives.
  • Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
  • Preparing and presenting the order of cost estimates and option studies.
  • Cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Cost-in-use studies.
  • Evaluating and reporting on tenders.
  • Valuing completed work and arranging for payments.
  • Settling final accounts.
  • Administering contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.
  • Producing and presenting reports to Customers.
  • Working closely with project teams to integrate cost management into overall project delivery.
  • Identifying and managing cost-related risks and opportunities in services.
  • Managing service delivery for profit.
  • Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular, those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

Experience, Knowledge And Key Skills

  • 3–6 years of experience in a cost management role on large-scale construction projects. Experience within the data centre or mission-critical sector is a plus.
  • Good knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks (construction stage).
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
  • Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Eligible to work in Portugal.
  • Available to work in Sines 5 days per week (no rotation applies).

Qualifications

  • QS degree or similar
  • MRICS qualification or actively working towards chartership (desirable).
