Porto Site Lead
Patreon
Remoto
Ultimately our goal is simple: fund the creative class. And we're leaders in that space, with:
- $10 billion+ generated by creators since Patreon's inception
- 100 million+ free memberships for fans who may not be ready to pay just yet, and
- 25 million+ paid memberships on Patreon today.
This role is based in Porto, Portugal and operates on a hybrid work model (in-office 2 days per week).
About The Team
Trust & Safety keeps Patreon welcoming and fair so Creators and their Fans can connect and creativity can thrive. We set clear, easy-to-follow standards and act quickly and consistently when something's off, giving creators and fans confidence to create, share, and participate with respect across our global community.
Our Porto site is our safety heartbeat in Europe: most of our frontline Trust & Safety work happens here. It's a real community where people support each other, share context, and carry tough work together. Porto is also a source of honest insight — feedback from the site has shaped policy decisions, tooling asks, and how we scale with people, BPOs, and automation. As Patreon becomes more public and discovery-led, Porto's experience is central to how we evolve.
About The Role
We're hiring a Porto Site Lead in our Porto location to keep the safety pipeline healthy during EU hours and make sure work moves seamlessly between Porto and the U.S. You'll be Porto's advocate for safety operations — turning local signals into global action, helping teams adopt improvements that stick, and explaining what changed and why in plain language.
You'll sit in Trust & Safety so you have real operational context, but your remit is site-wide: chairing the Porto Leadership Council, partnering with the Admin/HR partner, and helping represent the needs of all Porto teams (not just T&S) in big decisions. You'll lead through influence at first (no direct reports initially, with dotted-line relationships) and report to the Director of Trust & Safety Operations (based in the U.S.).
As the site and product evolve, there is room for this role to grow into a broader people-lead scope based on business need and alignment with our leveling framework.
What You'll Need
- Experience in Trust & Safety, risk, operations, or a related field, including site or regional leadership responsibility — typically 7–10 years, or equivalent combination of experience and scope
- Experience leading teams or sites in the EU/UK region
- Has measurably improved operational performance in a prior role — able to point to specific changes made and outcomes achieved using data and structured problem solving
- Experience working with or managing vendors/BPOs
- Communicates clearly in English and Portuguese — able to translate complex safety decisions into plain language for local teams and explain operational changes to a U.S.-based leadership team
- Comfort operating in a global, matrixed environment and leading through influence as well as direct management
- Familiarity with EU/UK online safety expectations and how they translate into day-to-day operations
- Experience representing a regional site in global or cross-functional planning processes
- Understands what a healthy online community looks like and can connect day-to-day safety operations to that outcome

Patreon offers a competitive benefits package including and not limited to salary, equity plans, healthcare, vacation leave, company holidays and recharge days, lifestyle stipends, learning and development stipends, patronage, parental leave and sick leave, and pension with an employer contribution.
Patreon operates under a hybrid work model, where employees based in office locations are expected to come into the office two days per week, excluding sick time and paid leave. The goal of this policy is to be intentional about the in-person time we spend together to strengthen the feeling of community at Patreon. Candidates hired into remote-eligible roles are not expected to meet the same requirements.
At Patreon, we believe in fair and transparent pay. In compliance with Portugal and EU pay transparency laws, we are sharing the expected salary range for this role.
The posted salary range is dependent on the location and the level. This range may encompass multiple levels within the role’s job family. The final offer will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, competencies, and geographic location, aligning with the appropriate job level within Patreon’s leveling framework. For remote employees located outside CA and NY, salary may vary based on location and local market conditions.
Patreon reserves the right to modify or update compensation and benefits at any time.
Compensation: €4,116 – €6,183 per month (gross base salary), paid on a 14-month basis (total annual cash compensation: €57,633 – €86,567). Final placement within the cash range is determined by skills, experience, and alignment with Patreon's internal pay bands. This role is also eligible for equity compensation.
