Mission of the Role: The SAP Production Planning & Material Management Lead ( Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) , is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of production planning, detailed scheduling, material requirements planning (MRP), resources capacity leveling, materials management and inventory management.
Mission is to optimize Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) processes, ensuring manufacturing stability, optimized stock levels, and seamless supply chain integration.
Key Objectives of this Role:
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the SAP PPDS & MM team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient execution of planning and procurement processes.
- Business Analysis: Analyze and understand complex manufacturing requirements, translating them into functional specifications and actionable PPDS/MM items.
- Advanced Planning: Understand and support the integration of heuristics, optimizer runs, and DS Planning Board setups.
- Process Optimization: Implement best practices in Scheduling and Automated Procurement to improve factory throughput and reduce material shortages.
- Innovation: Stay updated with the latest S/4HANA Embedded PP/DS functionalities and innovations to recommend system enhancements.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve complex challenges related to PDS/Production Version errors, CIF integration, and procurement bottlenecks in a timely manner.
Key Experience Required:
- Domain Expertise: Minimum of 5 years in SAP, with a heavy focus on PPDS (Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling) and MM (Materials Management).
- Core Knowledge: Strong background in MRP Live, capacity planning, vendor management, and physical inventory.
- Project History: Proven track record in leading mid to large-scale SAP PP/DS implementations and managing complex supply chain projects successfully.
- Technical Ecosystem: Familiarity with Core Interface (CIF), BAPIs/IDocs for procurement, and integration with SAP IBP or Ariba is a plus.
- Configuration: Knowledge of SAP PPDS and MM modules; proficiency in configuring scheduling heuristics, planning groups, and release strategies.
- Integration Depth: Strong understanding of integration points between PPDS, MM, and EWM.
- Team Motivation: Demonstrated ability to lead partners functional consultants and mentor business users effectively.
- Problem Solving: Decision-making skills with a solution-oriented approach to production-stopping or efficiency issues.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, capable to cooperate between SAP Project team, "shop floor" and the "top floor."
