Engineering Manager

You have the opportunity to join our team to face business challenges in a dynamic environment with close collaboration between the team and business stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop Software Engineers, Architects and QA professionals across three teams, driving performance management, growth and progression
• Foster a stronger engineering culture focused on collaboration, accountability, ownership, continuous improvement and technical excellence
• Own engineering hiring, onboarding and organizational scaling as the organization grows
• Ensure teams deliver high-quality software in a scalable, sustainable and efficient way, driving continuous improvement of engineering processes and delivery effectiveness
• Own engineering capacity planning, risk and dependency management, with clearer ownership, escalation paths and decision-making practices
• Work closely with Product leadership to align priorities, delivery expectations and roadmap execution
• Collaborate with Architects and Senior Engineers on technical direction, engineering standards and platform evolution, driving cross-team alignment
• Contribute to the evolution of the engineering operating model while supporting the scalability and maturity of the Porto technology organization
• Operate within an agile, cross-functional, cloud-based (Azure) Marketplace platform environment with modern web architecture and international stakeholders.

Your Skills and Experiences:

• Experience leading and developing engineering teams in a modern software development environment
• Strong people leadership, coaching and team development capabilities
• Previous experience managing multiple teams or larger Engineering groups
• Solid understanding of software engineering practices, agile environments and modern product organizations
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and organizational alignment capabilities
• Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional, scaling and evolving organizations
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive organizational clarity and execution
• Nice to have: product-driven or marketplace/platform environments, scaling engineering structures, international or distributed teams, organizational transformation, and exposure to cloud infrastructure and platform scalability.
