One BA Scholarship in Linguistics or Cognitive Science - #240947

1. By decision of the Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, Professor Hermenegildo Fernandes, a tender is open for the award of one Scholarship for BA students (Bolsa de Iniciação à Investigação).
This grant is funded by Portuguese national funds through Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, under project UIDB/00214/2020, of Center of Linguistics of the University of Lisbon, from School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon.
2. The scholarship will be awarded for 5 months, and may be renewed up to a maximum 12 months and during the eligibility of the project.
3. The scholarship will be supervised by Professor Ana Lúcia Santos.
4. The grant holder will collaborate in different tasks associated to research in Linguistics:
. support in the creation of materials required to implement experiments that will be used to test the comprehension and the production of different syntactic structures by children acquiring European Portuguese;
. data collection in experimental settings, with adults and children (at School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon and at different schools);
. recruitment of participants in the different experimental tasks, updating databases with information on participants;
. transcription and coding of linguistic data (resulting from experimental tasks or from spontaneous data collection);
. preparation of databases for statistical analysis.
5. Application submission

- curriculum vitae;
- degree certificate (if you do not have this document, you must send a statement of compliance - see template at FLUL website);
- document proving enrolment in the required program (if applicant is already enrolled);
- published papers or other materials relevant to the application.
The application and all documents associated with it must be written in either Portuguese or English.
No required application document may be submitted after the deadline.
For application purposes, diplomas, certificates and transcripts need not be submitted. In lieu, a statement of compliance is required. Official transcripts must be submitted prior to the signing of the contract.
Fellowships applicants must show that they meet the necessary conditions to enrol in the program leading to the attainment of the requested academic degree. Proof of acceptance will be required prior to the signing of the contract.
