About the Role

A leading AI research lab is looking for software engineers to support open-source Python projects. The work focuses on setting up development environments, resolving dependency issues, and ensuring tests pass reliably across different codebases. This is a remote and flexible opportunity suited for engineers with strong Python skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Configure Python development environments across multiple projects
• Resolve complex dependency and package management issues
• Review and test GitHub pull requests to ensure code stability
• Collaborate asynchronously with a global team
• Maintain a high standard of documentation and communication

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in Python
• Familiarity with virtual environments, dependency management tools (e.g., pip, poetry, conda)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Strongly preferred: Consistent GitHub activity, with regular commits over the past year

Project Details

• Initial 2-week trial period to assess mutual fit
• Role may evolve over time, but core focus remains on Python ecosystem and environment setup
• Expected commitment: 20–40 hours per week, fully flexible
