WHAT’S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?

The Senior Team Lead Specialist is a strategic leadership role focused on optimizing the Fast Data Support team's performance. This position supports day-to-day operations, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and leads Senior Team Leaders to ensure efficiency, stability, and alignment with organizational goals. This role involves team management, strategical thinking, and developing initiatives across the department.

HERE’S YOUR ROLE BROKEN DOWN (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)

  • Leadership: Act as second-in-command to the Fast Data Operations Manager in Aveiro, stepping in as needed during their absence.
  • Team Management: Lead and support Senior Team Leads, ensuring effective execution of departmental strategies and day-to-day operations.
  • Recruitment: Contribute to the recruitment, training, and onboarding of Senior Team Leads, Team Leads or any other roles within the structure.
  • Continuous Improvement: Schedule and lead regular team meetings and workshops to cascade key messages, address concerns, and promote team alignment.
  • Excellence Culture: Provide regular feedback and guidance to local teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Operational Oversee: Maintain oversight of the hub collection plan, tracking progress and reporting directly to the Fast Data Operations Manager.
  • Strategic Planning: Assist in strategic planning, policy development, and project coordination to support departmental growth and efficiency.
  • Performance Control: Monitor department KPIs and performance metrics across all areas, identifying trends and recurring issues.
  • Improvements: Launch and manage initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, productivity, and quality standards.
  • Stakeholders: Represent the department in internal and external meetings, effectively communicating updates and decisions, and cooperating effectively with the Fast Data product stakeholders.
  • Communication: Guarantee active communication and foster an engaging environment in the department.
  • Compliance: Ensure local teams operate in accordance with local legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Innovation: Promote innovation and drive change initiatives aligned with broader group strategy and goals.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain deep knowledge of Fast Data product, across different roles and tasks to support decision-making and operational needs.

  • Expert Fast Data knowledge.
  • Good communication skills in both English and Portuguese
  • Experience in team leadership and motivation
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Able to manage projects and programs effectively
  • Confident decision-maker and problem-solver
  • Curious and investigative mindset; seeks expert input when needed
  • Solid planning skills with the ability to anticipate challenges
  • Full understanding of Soccer Performance tools and processes
  • Strong knowledge of global soccer leagues and competitions

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, global or multicultural environment
  • Familiarity with data analysis and metrics in sports
  • Knowledge of other languages beyond English and Portuguese
  • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience in change management and driving innovation
  • Familiarity with agile or project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana)
  • Ability to train and mentor others effectively
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and operational demands
