The Strategy & Transformation Practice is one of the largest practices at Bain, and at the heart of some of our biggest client success stories. We’re constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation, with new hooks, points of view, products, tools and delivery models that bring together the best thinking from our most successful client heads and senior strategists, to stretch our client’s definition of full potential, embed change within their organizations, and deliver results. The Strategy & Transformation Practice team works very closely with partners, senior managers and teams to bring Bain’s best experience and the latest tools and innovations to bear across sectors and offices. They are integral in helping Bain win new cases and advising our case teams on difficult strategy and transformation questions.
The CS&F Practice Consultant role is part of our Corporate Strategy and Finance solution team, which consists of a Global Solution Leader, Practice Director, and support from the knowledge management team. The solution team also has access to BCN resources to aid in IP development and SKU delivery. The Corporate Strategy and Finance team supports clients and Bain teams on topics like portfolio strategy for multi-business firms and brining investor and capital market perspectives to clients to identify opportunities to accelerate value creation.

What You’ll Do
DEVELOP, COMMERCIALIZE AND DEPLOY CUTTING EDGE INSIGHTS
- Support the development of cutting-edge IP in Corporate Strategy & Finance working with senior Bain leaders in the Strategy & Transformation practice and other Bain practices
- Embed new technologies, like AI, into Bain’s IP and approaches to advise clients on Corporate Strategy & Finance
- Build awareness of Corporate Strategy & Finance products and IP to leverage across client engagements (e.g. through internal training)
- Evaluate and seek opportunities to transfer product insights across Practice boundaries – work with other Capability and Industry Practice Areas and provide input into IP and products
- Contribute to IP development efforts on our broader Strategy toolkit that may sit outside of / adjacent to the CS&F solution
- Support the annual development and refresh of the solution full potential plan informed by competitive positioning, market disruption, and evolving customer needs
- Support key meetings with some of the most senior Bain leaders and the partner team engaged on Corporate Strategy & Finance
- Guide the knowledge team in select content codification
- Support the solution leader and practice director in measures to grow the Corporate Strategy & Finance partner and manager team, e.g. through affiliate calls
- Support commercial opportunities in Corporate Strategy & Finance, e.g. recommending practice resources and tools to use and partners to engage depending on the situation
- Selectively support proposals and cases for priority opportunities
- Advise case teams and clients working with Bain on Corporate Strategy & Finance
- Work with the BCN teams to support Bain case teams in CD and case delivery guiding on the right use and interpretation of financial analysis, like the TSR Diagnostic
- Work with Marketing to market the solution offering through Bain Briefs, blogs, Bain.com pages and other channels engaging other practices as needed
- Create new insights, POVs, briefs and marketing collateral to support and deepen our C-Suite, and specifically CFO relationships
- A great candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Finance, Economics, or related field). MBA or a CFA are preferred but not required.
- 3+ years of professional experience years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or a related field
- Strong financial acumen and advanced Excel/financial modeling skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex analyses and synthesize strategic insights.
- Exposure to engagements in corporate strategy, capital markets, M&A, due diligence, or enterprise value creation.
- Familiarity with valuation techniques (DCF, multiples, etc.) and capital markets dynamics.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and client-facing environment.
- Experience or familiarity with AI-driven business solutions—e.g., generative AI or machine learning applications in finance.
- Python programming skills, particularly for financial modeling or data analysis are a plus
- Exceptional communication skills that enable building cross-functional relationships and managing projects across multiple teams; experience and proficiency creating high quality presentations, ideally at C-level or for Boards of Directors
- Demonstrated track record of working in diverse teams with a variety of skillsets and expertise
- Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills with a proven track record of being a self-starter
