Software Category Manager
As a Software Category Manager, You Will
- Responsible for leading Software procurement bidding processes, vendor selection and contract negotiations across different departments.
- Act as single point of contact for stakeholders regarding procurement and purchasing activities.
- Active participation to ensure that cooperative negotiation with suppliers takes place, and information and best practices are openly shared.
- Coordinate, evaluate and recommend vendor selection based on competitive bidding of products and services through a formal RFX process or leveraged negotiations.
- Negotiate contracts and prices to secure business competitiveness:
- Ensure Vendor enrolment complying Amadeus policies;
- Negotiating contracts which secure business and mitigate consequences in case of issues with vendors;
- Negotiating price agreements who help the business to be more competitive by saving money;
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all software licenses and associated risks and track their usage.
- Ensure that the organization complies with all software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits to verify license compliance and address any discrepancies.
- Identify and implement cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities such as volume and vendor consolidation opportunities, over license elimination and best in class purchasing/ contracting practices in order to deliver the savings targets assigned to the Procurement function. Monitor and report on category spend and savings achievements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key software vendors and supervise vendor's performance and improvement performance actions.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to relevant solicitors on contract and sourcing activities to support internal departments and meet targets.
The Vendor Manager needs to clearly understand the technical, commercial and legal impacts of the product and solution design in order to support RFI/RFP requirements.
- Experience in a role within a Procurement function in a large, complex organization.
- Experience in strategic sourcing and category management, with a strong focus on Software (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, licensing models) and related support and maintenance services.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and any other analytical tools such as PowerBI or Qlik is a Plus.
