We are currently looking for Senior Java Engineer.
The Role: As a Senior Java Backend Developer, you will be part of an agile software development team, responsible for the full lifecycle of applications using cutting-edge technologies to deliver value to our customers.
You will scale our platform for global markets, developing flowcharts, layouts, documentation, and supporting the Product Owner with requirements and solutions.
You will also develop unit, component, and integrated tests, executing the full software development lifecycle with guidance from the QA team.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and related technologies.Collaborate with the Product Owner to gather and refine requirements.Design and implement well-structured, testable, and efficient code to meet business needs.Create flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to support development.Develop tests in collaboration with the QA team.Deploy applications in a CI platform.Test and document solutions to ensure quality and maintainability.Participate in code reviews and provide feedback.Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.Qualifications: Experience with mission-critical Java applications, especially in banking and finance sectors.Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.Proficiency in relational databases, indexes, optimization, and ACID properties.Experience with Apache Kafka, including offsets, brokers, partitions, and consumer groups.Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools like Grafana, ELK stack, and Datadog.Experience with cloud platforms, containers, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.Knowledge of microservices architecture and asynchronous communication.Awareness of industry trends like Kubernetes, Prometheus, AWS, NoSQL, messaging systems.Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts.Leadership and mentorship skills.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Preferred Skills: Experience with microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.Understanding of Agile practices.Java development certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) is a plus.Location: Porto, Braga, Coimbra, Lisbon; hybrid work model.
