THE ROLE – Operations Strategy Specialist | Capacity Planning & Workforce Management
As the Capacity Planning & Workforce Management Specialist within the Operations Strategy team at Indie Campers, you will play a critical role in enabling efficient, scalable, and high-performing operations across our growing global network. Your focus will be on building and implementing strategies and systems related to depot capacity dimensioning, labor planning, scheduling, and workforce optimization - ensuring we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time.
You will own the development of tools, processes, and governance frameworks that support data-driven decision-making across regions, while driving continuous improvement in workforce utilization, productivity, and service quality. Your work will be key to ensuring that operational targets are met while supporting a consistent and reliable experience for our customers and teams.
Reporting to the Operations Strategy Director, this role requires strong collaboration with local and regional operations, people/HR, and finance/controlling teams, as well as deep engagement with depot leaders and regional managers.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Lead Capacity and Labor Planning Strategy
Design and implement models that forecast depot and labor needs across the network based on demand, vehicle movements, seasonal peaks, and service expectations.
Develop Workforce Scheduling Standards
Create standardized scheduling templates and continously develop tools to optimize shift allocation, cross-utilization, and coverage across operational roles, aligned with local labor laws and business constraints.
Analyze and Optimize Workforce KPIs
Monitor metrics such as productivity, overtime, shift adherence, and staffing ratios; identify gaps and lead initiatives to improve efficiency and service consistency.
Implement Workforce Management Tools
Support the rollout and continuous improvement of workforce planning and scheduling systems or tools, ensuring usability and adoption across depots and regions.
Enable Cross-Functional Alignment
Work closely with People and Finance teams to align workforce planning with hiring plans, and payroll budgeting
Coach and Support Local Teams
Provide training and ongoing support to regional managers and depot leaders on planning practices, tools, and performance improvement levers.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
A degree in Industrial Economics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations Management, or a related field.
5-8 years of experience in capacity planning, workforce management, operations strategy, or similar roles - ideally in a fast-paced, multi-site environment (e.g., retail, logistics, mobility, hospitality).
Strong analytical and modeling capabilities, with hands-on experience in demand forecasting, shift scheduling, and labor cost optimization.
Knowledge of workforce planning tools and methodologies; experience with scheduling platforms and labor management systems.
Strong business acumen and operational understanding, with the ability to balance efficiency, cost, and employee experience.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions and regions.
Highly organized and process-driven, with a continuous improvement mindset and strong ownership of results.
Fluency in English is required; other languages are a plus.
