About The Job

• The team provides fundamental, quantitative and evidence-based research on rates markets and generates trade ideas, leveraging on supply and demand analysis, shifts in the regulatory landscape, central bank policies and other macroeconomic fundamentals. Quantitative analysis and models are also used as an input. The team publishes research, is client facing and works closely with sales, trading, structuring and other quantitative research teams within BNP Paribas Global Markets
  
  

Your Main Activities Are

• Develop, improve forecasting and tracking of EGB and SSA bond supply, weekly, quarterly and yearly forecasts. Bond supply is one of the main drivers of bonds markets, it feeds into our various fair value models and is the most recurrent topic debated with clients. Forecasting supply, measuring its absorption, are key to our analysis
• Build a sovereign rating score tool for sovereigns, to better understand and predict ratings changes and to feed into our EGB spreads views and trade ideas
• Maintain, improve and update EGB spreads models, including creating visual representations of outputs, compiling of dashboards, presentations and publications
• Support the European Rates Strategy team (located in London) in the process of writing/publishing quick trade ideas and other publications, address client questions and business requests
• Liaise with the European Rates Strategy and M360 quants team to improve seasonality analysis and positioning, and to integrate those to our weekly data watch
• Work with the team for the improvement of digitalization, automation and distribution of contents, such as our weekly publication
  
  

Profile And Skills To Success

• Master degree in Economics (with econometrics), Finance and Applied Maths
• Up to 2 of relevant professional experience
• Knowledge of monetary policy
• Good knowledge of Excel, VBA, PPT
• Good written/verbal communication skills in English (mandatory)
• Knowledge of Python
• Ability to demonstrate elementary knowledge of financial markets relationships / drivers and statistics, including econometrics
