Job Description
We are looking for Operations Controllers to join our new South Europe Control Centre, based in Lisbon. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the 24h real-time monitoring control, grid and market integration support, compliance and emergency response, of Nadara’s wind and solar assets across Europe. The Control Centre operates 24/7 to ensure safety, regulatory compliance and performance optimisation. This role requires working on a rotating 24/7 shift schedule, including nights, weekends and public holidays, as part of a team ensuring continuous coverage of operations. This is a key frontline role in our operations, providing critical oversight of renewable assets and supporting maintenance and emergency response coordination.

We are looking for Operations Controllers to join our new South Europe Control Centre, based in Lisbon. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the 24h real-time monitoring control, grid and market integration support, compliance and emergency response, of Nadara’s wind and solar assets across Europe. The Control Centre operates 24/7 to ensure safety, regulatory compliance and performance optimisation. This role requires working on a rotating 24/7 shift schedule, including nights, weekends and public holidays, as part of a team ensuring continuous coverage of operations. This is a key frontline role in our operations, providing critical oversight of renewable assets and supporting maintenance and emergency response coordination.
Real-time monitoring and control
- Perform continuous monitoring of wind and solar assets using SCADA and other remote management platforms
- Supervision and control of real-time operation and performance of Nadara’s renewable assets, real-time performance analysis, act on stoppages, curtailments and TSO/DSO orders, coordination of works and operations, issue work order and guaranteeing optimum security conditions with the collaboration of plant management and/or the power plant on-site personnel, in accordance with the department's guidelines and occupational hazard prevention and environmental / regulatory standards, in order to guarantee the maximum availability and efficiency of the installations and maximum use of renewable energy resources.
- Execute remote control commands to ensure operational performance and safety.
- Ensure the availability of all required information and represent the Control Centre when dealing with external entities to protect Nadara’s interests, consolidate its image and develop positive working relationships with institutions, while guaranteeing the acquisition and retention of specific knowledge and expertise.
- Identify and report anomalies, alarms or faults, escalating to relevant internal teams and contractors when needed.
- Collaborate with plant management teams in the identification and communication of incidents and faults, electrical restrictions imposed by the transmission system operators and provide energy production forecasts.
- Follow-up of scheduling and works coordination, in compliance with regulatory and operational procedures (e.g. remote control centre to carry out obligations with DSO/TSO or other authorities, or local HSEQ obligations) .
- Site access control.
- Coordinate with internal teams, maintenance contractors, grid operators (DSO/TSO) and external stakeholders.
- Guarantee the continuous exchange of information with system operators (TSO/DSO), OEM remote control centers, production forecast providers and market operators to coordinate and/or guide operations, procedures, and control processes.
- Support site access management and permit-to-work processes in accordance with HSE and operational procedures.
- Maintain shift handover documentation and ensure clear communication between shift teams.
- Operate in full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal safety procedures.
- Follow established workflows, escalation protocols, and incident reporting procedures.
- Support the application of HSEQ policies and operational best practices.
- Use SCADA, dispatching and asset management systems (e.g. EAM) to log data, track performance and document interventions.
- Record operational events, alarms, outages, and support scheduling of planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Manage operations using first and second level SCADA platforms, EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) systems, country-specific dispatching software, and other leading control centre platforms.
- Perform SCADA system connection/control tests with the power plants and substation automated systems, communication systems and all relevant software for the operation of power plants, to guarantee that the assets are correctly operated.
- Technical diploma or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, renewable energy or automation fields.
- Availability to work in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Good IT skills and ability to work with control centre software and tools.
- Proactive, reliable and able to stay focused under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
