Siemens is looking for a local commodity manager in Horizontal/Vertical IT who will be responsible for strategic IT Procurement activities linked to Portugal Tech Hub, striving for optimum conditions on an excellent supplier base through pooling volumes and common strategies. Strong & close alignment with Global and Regional Commodity Management.

The role requires strong ability to develop and maintain key relationships across Portugal Tech Hub's IT organizations, establish and manage supplier relationships, and to interact and communicate effectively with Siemens’ management. The ideal candidate must have the ability to self-manage workload, manage multiple projects in parallel, set target dates, meet deadlines, follow and improve procurement processes, develop a roadmap of projects, and implement projects to achieve optimum results.

What will be my responsibilities?

  • In the area of commodity management, you will continuously improve and develop our IT Procurement concept and the associated IT sourcing strategy.
  • Based on the IT strategy and the requirements, you derive the best possible sourcing strategy for the respective technologies and/or areas. Here you will work closely with the respective regions/country IT departments to translate the global strategy into local requirements.
  • In the area of stakeholder/customer management you assume the role of a demand manager.
  • You define the right levels of participation based on the respective audience and define a stakeholder engagement plan and an engagement process. This includes preparation and planning, design, commitment, evaluation, and application.
  • You take over the supplier management. This includes supplier selection, the 360° review of IT suppliers in terms of performance, strategic footprint, and development requirements. Here you actively promote supplier development in cooperation with IT stakeholders.
  • You conduct annual price negotiations of rate cards for Portugal and extend or update existing local master agreements. You will also be responsible for the tenders and negotiations for specific projects.
  • You will promote strategic projects with local impact to industrialize the IT Procurement function, conduct pilot projects and support roll-outs in Portugal.
  • As the Business IT Procurement Contact in Portugal, you will be responsible for managing tenders and negotiations for local projects, as well as streamlining IT procurement processes with stakeholders.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have successfully completed your degree in industrial engineering, business informatics, business administration or a comparable degree.
  • Professional experience in IT procurement/ procurement related function.
  • In depth knowledge of IT Provider market in the IT Commodities: Application Management Services, Software, Infrastructure, Hardware and Managed Communication.
  • Deep experience in Procurement processes. Fast adaption of Siemens internal Procurement processes and tools.
  • This role will be interacting with peers globally and thus involves experience of working with different cultures and working in multi-cultural teams.
  • Highly proficient in English written and oral communication.
