About The Job

• Within BNP Paribas, Credit Analysis plays a fundamental role in the selection of the bank’s assets, contributing to the sustainability of the business model. This is critical in reaching the right credit decisions, bringing added value to the business as well as strongly monitoring risks
• Based in Lisbon, the CPM Trainee will work on a pool basis closely and under the supervision of the relevant credit analysts / relationship managers, assisting the Team

Your Main Activities

• Analysis of the creditworthiness of a portfolio of clients. The analysis is driven by a review of the counterparty financial analysis as well as assessment and monitoring of counterparty and credit risk
• Perform on a regular basis industry overviews and peer analysis
• Preparation of written Credit Proposals (Annual Reviews, New Requests, Amendment/Waivers) entailing the above points in order to support credit committee decisions regarding the client’s risk of default, credit rating and adequacy of the proposed financing
• Reporting & Data management ensuring database quality
• Work with cohesion and team spirit within the CPM team and with the other members of the Transportation Finance team as well as with internal/external stakeholders (on a local and international scale)
  
  

Profile And Skills To Success

• Graduate Degree in Finance, Management, Economics or Accounting
• Good written/verbal communication skills in English (mandatory)
• Detail oriented, knowledge of financial analysis valued
• Comfort in using Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Team spirit.
• Efficient organizational and planning capacities
• Self-starter, good initiative and flexible
• Business minded with an ability to convey a balanced sense of risk
  
  

About The Team

• The Transportation Finance team is currently made of 45+ people including a Coverage Relationship & Origination team, a Transaction & Execution team and a Credit Portfolio Management Team (CPM) spread across 6 countries serving the sector client in EMEA. These teams are split across two majors, Aviation on one side and Shipping & Offshore on the other side although greater transversality is being fostered. The CPM team is also cross functionally part of a broader CPM team with Export, Leasing & Alternative Structuring and Commercial Real Estate. This transversality aims to provide a common training path, opportunities to explore other sectors, more efficiency and greater mobility.
