As we expand and evolve our platform, Unbabel is looking for a Frontend Development Intern to help us advance our user interfaces and web application experiences. This is a unique opportunity to learn from experienced engineers, contribute to impactful frontend projects, and build skills in modern web development.

What’s the opportunity about?
As we expand and evolve our platform, Unbabel is looking for a Frontend Development Intern to help us advance our user interfaces and web application experiences. This is a unique opportunity to learn from experienced engineers, contribute to impactful frontend projects, and build skills in modern web development.
Key Details:
- Location: Hybrid in Lisbon (at least 2x per week in the office)
- Duration: 6 months
- Salary: €1,000/month gross
- Working language: English
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to build new features and improve interface performance.
- Assist in developing user-friendly and accessible UI components.
- Help integrate our web apps with APIs and internal services.
- Participate in discussions around design and technical approaches.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code with guidance from mentors.
- Test, debug, and troubleshoot interface issues.
- Learn about best practices in secure coding and responsive web design.
- Take part in peer code reviews and team meetings.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Basic understanding of web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Interest in learning and working with modern frontend frameworks (Vue.js or similar is a plus).
- Eagerness to learn about web application development, UI/UX design, and accessibility.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an English-speaking environment.
- Self-motivated, with a willingness to ask questions and seek feedback.
- Experience with team-based projects or contributing to existing codebases (university, personal, or open-source).
- Familiarity with Git and version control.
- Any exposure to REST APIs or web services.
