We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer/Analyst to join our growing software engineering team.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Taking over responsibility for software engineering activities such as requirement analysis, test case design, test case review, and manual testing at both component and system levels in an international environment
  • Engaging in defect verification and enhancing existing test cases
  • Verifying and validating software applications
  • Performing system tests, integration tests, component tests, regression tests, and smoke tests on developed software applications
  • Preparing and maintaining the test environment or test infrastructure
  • Collaborating with business analysts, developers, and project managers to understand application requirements and designing effective test scenarios and test cases
  • Estimating the time required to execute test cases
  • Executing functional (specification-based) tests
  • Communicating test progress related to manual tests effectively to the Test Manager
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including test automation, engineering, and customer service, to ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards
  • Identifying bugs and creating bug tickets in a clear and concise manner
  • Mentoring and guiding junior members of the testing team

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Traffic, Railway, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (considered a plus)
  • An ISTQB Certification Foundation Level or equivalent (considered a plus)
  • At least 2 years of experience in quality assurance in complex software, transportation, or mobility industry projects (considered a plus)
  • Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall
  • A good understanding of test and defect tracking tools (e.g., defect logging tools, test management tools, versioning systems, statistical tools, test automation tools)
  • Good knowledge of testing tools such as Jira, Xray, SoapUI, and Bruno
  • Knowledge of Ansible and Docker (considered a plus)
  • Knowledge of SQL and scripting languages such as Bash and Python (considered a plus)
  • Experience in testing web, desktop, and backend applications
  • Familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
  • Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments and exposure to CI/CD pipelines
  • An understanding of the large-scale software industry, including its key drivers, trends, and technologies (considered a plus)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and supervisors
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (additional languages such as German are considered a plus)
