Fire Protection Systems Engineer – Data Center Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fire Protection Systems Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team focused on mission-critical data center projects in Sines (Portugal). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design, specification, and supervision of fire protection systems, with proven experience in both engineering design and construction phases.

What will you do?

• Develop and review fire protection system designs, including hydraulic calculations, equipment selection, and layout optimisation.
• Prepare and validate technical specifications, design criteria, and system performance requirements.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with local and international codes (e.g., NFPA, FM Global, EN standards).
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (MEP, architecture, civil) to integrate fire protection systems into the overall project design.
• Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections, contractor coordination, and commissioning oversight.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations throughout all project phases.
  
  

What we expect from you:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection systems engineering, preferably in data center or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, local fire codes, and international best practices.
• Proficiency in Autocad, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., HASS, Sprinkcad).
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
• Experience in construction supervision and contractor management is essential.
