What’s the purpose of this role?

The purpose of the principal Solution Architect – SAP SC is to enable and drive:

• Technical Vision and Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear technical vision and strategy for ABAP and HANA developments that align with the organization’s goals and drive innovation.
• Drive and Lead: Motivate and lead internal and partner development teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture focused on SAP technologies.
• ABAP and HANA Expertise: Ensure maintenance of high standards in ABAP/HANA developments, leveraging best practices and advanced techniques.
• Mentorship and Development: Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members, helping them grow their skills in ABAP/HANA stack.
• Technical Decision Making: Lead technical decision-making processes, ensuring that ABAP and HANA solutions are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business needs.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure that the technical solutions meet their needs, particularly in the context of ABAP and HANA.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and technologies related to ABAP and HANA to enhance productivity and quality.
  
  

What is needed to succeed in this Role?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT architecture, consumer and commercial systems design, and implementation.
• Extensive SAP Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience working with SAP, including hands-on development experience in ABAP and HANA.
• Technical Leadership: Experience leading technical teams, providing mentorship, and driving technical excellence.
• Full Lifecycle Implementations: Involvement in multiple full lifecycle SAP implementations, from requirements gathering to go-live and support.
• Integration Expertise: Experience with integrating SAP systems with other applications using technologies like BAPI, RFC, ALE/IDOC, and web services.
• Performance Tuning: Strong skills in optimizing the performance of ABAP programs and HANA artifacts.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in SAP environments.
• Cross-Module Knowledge: Understanding of various SAP modules such as FI, MM, SD, and their integration points.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and documenting technical specifications.
• Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated with the latest SAP technologies and best practices.
