Technical Quote Leader - Electrification

Mission of the Role: The Technical Quote Leader is part of the electrification organization and is responsible for building the technical relationship between Visteon Engineering and the associated OEMs and customers. This position requires primary customer interface for technical information up to and including sourcing, as well as the internal quote leader across Visteon’s engineering, procurement, operations, sales, and finance teams. This involves pre-sourcing, upfront customer-specific engineering development work, cross-functional leadership across the Visteon organization, and generation of technical quote documentation.

Key Stakeholders: multiple internal cross-functional stakeholders (example: sales, manufacturing, engineering); OEM customers; strategic suppliers.

Key Objectives of the Role:

  1. Customer Engagement and Support
  • Technical lead for customer new business opportunities (RFS, RFI, RFQ)
  • Lead the internal global engineering team and support customer meetings as a product line representative
  • Meet internal and customer milestones
  • Ensure design compliance with customer requirements

      2. Quote Management and Documentation

  • Establish and manage quote resources and workload
  • Ensure timely completion of quote documentation, including customer technical design review (TDR), Bill of Material (BOM), design and engineering development assumptions, manufacturing assumptions, manufacturing plan, and engineering inputs (effort & costs)
  • Coordinate technical deliverables to meet quote timelines
  • Ensure process compliance during the quote process with a well-documented hand-off to the delivery team

      3. Project and Budget Management

  • Manage the budget for the extent of the pursuit process
  • Work with the Chief Engineer/delivery team to develop a delivery timeline and resource plan
  • Lead the development of pursuit-specific demo properties
  • Lead the engineering team in solving design issues
  • Benchmark quotes against market intelligence and historical references to ensure quality submissions

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Global product market share gain
  • Positive customer feedback on quote submissions and engagements
  • On-time and accurate quote deliverables
  • Completion of pursuits within the allocated budget

 

Key Year One Deliverables:

  • Win at least 2 new business opportunities in the electrification product line. Aim to achieve over $500 million in new business revenue.
  • Lead the timely and accurate completion of all quote documentation within the allocated budget for at least 5 customer engagements.
  • Develop a benchmarking model for electrification in new business pursuits to keep products competitive and differentiated.

 

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering (EE) or a related field, with equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in launching automotive electronics products.
  • Strongly prefer experience in the electric vehicle (EV) or electrification sector.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in understanding hardware, mechanical, and software design intricacies.
  • Expertise in high-level system analysis.
  • Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking) to effectively collaborate with ga lobal team and customers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, PowerBI, and SharePoint).
  • Skilled in collaborating with suppliers for part selection and negotiation.
  • Bonus: Proficiency in power electronics or battery management systems.
  • Bonus: Understanding of hardware architectures and implementation for various products.

Reporting Structure: This role reports into the Electrification Product Line and will be on the Product Management and Business Development team under Fiona Meyer-Teruel.
