Role Summary
As part of our investment into Technology, Operations and Product, Kantar is looking for a dedicated Data Architect to join our engineering community and help us define and drive the future of our bespoke Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) built on cutting edge technologies on Azure Cloud. We are also leveraging Azure Data Governance product suite to enrich our Data Management capabilities.
You will partner with our software engineering teams, architects and product managers to drive data governance and data architecture leadership for our ambitious product roadmaps!

Reporting into Kantar’s Technology division, this role will be instrumental for the end-to-end delivery of Kantar’s data product roadmap.
Key Responsabilities
The Data Architect will have to:
Produce industry-standard conceptual data models, and be involved in designing the logical/physical representation
Ensure data models are optimal for the various access patterns (e.g., Data Analytics, Data Science, Application – real-time & batch)
Ensure data models are catalogued and change management is documented and approved
Define data guardrails in the form of data dictionaries and data mappings to be adopted by the enterprise for consistent data definitions
Assess the impact on models resulting from upstream changes or downstream consumption changes
Play a governance role, driving Master Data Management/Reference Data Management principles to support our Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) and respective products
Implement policies around cost management and play a key role in capacity forecasting
Define Data Governance framework and data architecture designs – focusing ownership on the centralised data models
Define access management approaches and techniques to secure our data – keeping in mind regulatory and privacy requirements
Produce as-is assessment and technology recommendations to improve the technical capabilities for Data Quality, Data Privacy, Reference Data, Metadata (RDM) and Master Data Management (MDM)
Be an ambassador for the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) and Data Catalogue capabilities
Be an ambassador for good data design principles to best support the end users/applications
Guide and collaborate with engineering teams during implementations
Play an SME consultant role in encouraging standard processes in data modelling to the product domains/divisions, recommend improvements to existing models
Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and priorities for the functional and non-functional aspects of a data product/application
Capabilities and experience
Essential Experience
Demonstrated ability in a similar role
Deep experience in creating enterprise data models (Conceptual, Logical) using industry-standard toolsets
Data literate: understands how to derive value from trusted data and partners with end-users to elicit and translate requirements into suitable data structures
Worked with Data Catalogue tools (e.g., BIGID, Alation, Purview)
Experience with anonymisation/tokenisation techniques to support both storing and consuming the data
Experience in setting up scalable access management frameworks to ensure only the right consumers can view the appropriate data
Rich experience in Technology stacks (Cloud-native) on Data Management and Governance aspects (Data Privacy, Data Quality, RDM and MDM)
Experience in implementing Data Governance framework and technology stack for a complex Enterprise Data Platform (EDP)
Experience in implementing analytics and BI report ecosystem for seamless and secure data consumption
Experience building and supporting production-grade applications in the public cloud (esp. Azure or AWS)
Define data modelling principles – both traditional and modern (OLTP, DWH, Data Vault, Feature Engineering for Data Science, API Schema)
Understand the benefits of Reference Data Management and Master Data Management – and have been involved in implementation that involved one or both.
Desirable Experience
Experience in developing data products/applications related to Analytics & Data Science
Knowledge of data privacy methodologies for safe and secure data democratisation
Worked in designing models that play to the strengths of Azure Synapse and/or Databricks consumers.
TOGAF certified
Experience with modern cloud data technology stacks e.g., within Azure
Knowledge on Microservice, event-driven, and API led architectures
Training, certification and/or extensive reading in SAFe / Lean-Agile development practices
Skills
Ability to communicate fluently in English – especially when conveying technical detail and business value
Excellent organisational and analytical abilities

Experience working with remote teams across multiple countries
