About this opportunity

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis on companies to support our clients' credit decisions. This includes collecting data with the aim of standardizing financial statements, extracting key metrics, analyzing covenants and capital structures

What you’ll be doing:

  • Standardize company financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) into standardized templates.
  • Extract and track key credit metrics like leverage, coverage ratios, liquidity from financial statements.
  • Analyse capital structures including debt repayment schedules, interest expenses, and leverage levels.
  • Conduct covenant analysis by reviewing indentures and extracting limits on distributions, debt incurrence, and other restrictions.
  • Meet tight turnaround times, typically 1 week or less, on assignments depending on priority.



You will join Investments Operations in Nordea Asset Management. The role is based in Oeiras.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you are or have:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or credit analysis.
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting audited financial statements (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Proficiency in Excel for financial modelling, analysis, and presentation of results.
  • Good research and analytical skills to independently analyze companies.
  • Appropriate communication skills to collaborate with investment teams.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Capable and motivated in improving processes by applying new tools and technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
