Sr Associate Accountant

What you will do

You, as our Senior Associate Accounting, are responsible for the US GAAP accounting activities for several countries within the ELMAC region (Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Canada). This includes global accounting, month-end close, and compliance of controllership activities for specific countries in the region. You support the Accounting Director and Sr. Manager Accounting with ad-hoc tasks, variance analyses, and Process improvements.

Other regional responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver accurate, complete, and timely monthly and quarterly accounting closes for several countries /entities in the region
  • Supports the preparation of close packages (including variance analysis)
  • Performs control validations and testing (IICC/SOX)
  • Coordinate accounting activities performed by our outsource partner (Genpact) in India
  • Operate as a link between local, regional, and functional finance teams
  • Provide timely technical accounting guidance and controlling training to impacted stakeholders
  • Support Accounting projects and Process improvements

Our ideal candidate is a team player with a customer focus. Is problem-solving and result-oriented, has time and process management skills, and is strong in data analytics.

Proven experience and skills needed:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, business economics, or related field.
  • 3+ years working in a finance/reporting-related field for multi-national.
  • Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication.
  • Strong Excel knowledge.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and planning/reporting systems (SAP, Hyperion, Tableau).
  • Solid presentation skills and ability to present effectively to Management.
  • Self-starter with a high work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to influence personnel across functions and at all levels.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry.
